This one-of-a-kind vintage piece has found its next home, but its photographs, history and identifying details remain preserved in the Zestful Archive.
This authentic vintage Westinghouse refrigerator butter dish was made exclusively for Westinghouse by the Hall China Company and dates to the 1940s–1950s. These ceramic butter dishes were originally included with the purchase of new refrigerators and designed to store a one-pound block of butter inside the fridge.
Finished in a soft yellow glaze, this piece features clean, rounded lines typical of mid-century utility design. Today, these refrigerator dishes are highly collectible and are often repurposed as butter keepers, small storage dishes, or nostalgic kitchen decor.
This item shows visible age-related wear, including surface marks and a hairline crack (clearly shown in photos), consistent with vintage promotional kitchenware that was meant for everyday use rather than display only.
